WHY
VETERINARY
PHYSIOTHERAPY?
“My horse has been extremely poorly with all sorts of health issues and Charlie was there for me every step along the way with dedicated rehab plans, regular physio and always at the end of the phone. She is also a great instructor who took me from local showing to HOYS. I highly recommend Charlie as a physio and instructor” – Lucy Moggridge
Having grown up fortunate enough to have ponies in my life my passion for being around and caring for animals is strong. I am a great believer that time and dedication can help the most damaged of animals both mentally and physically and pride myself on the ability to work with the most challenging of cases.
With over 20 years in the animal industry I have gained a comprehensive knowledge of animal care and well being. I am a qualified and insured Veterinary Physiotherapist and proud member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapy (NAVP). I have also been accepted onto the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners and the Animal Health Professions Register both of which are professional bodies working to promote good practice and continual development.
Why may your animal need a veterinary physiotherapist?
Physiotherapy can help an animal to achieve their full performance potential and avoid injury. It is a holistic approach which works closely with other professionals to restore an animal’s health and well being. Physiotherapy is also valuable in rehabilitation following trauma or surgery as well as helping with any pre-existing conditions or general aging. I offer support with the following:

-
Post surgical recovery
-
Depression or lack of enthusiasm for life or previously loved activities
-
Training issues such as inconsistent rein contact, ability to strike off on correct lead and reluctance to perform tasks
-
Behavioral problems on girthing up, bucking, bolting, rearing, aggression or a change in demeanor
-
Reduced performance at competitions with noted performance inhibitors such as 'measuring' of fences
-
Direct injury to ensure return to previous health and performance
-
Musculoskeletal imbalance due to compensation for an area of pain in the body
